Welcome 178 Scholars and Families!
It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you as the principal of 11X178 Magnet School of Multimedia Arts and Design. The last few school years have posed a challenge that the world was not ready for, and still, we rose to the occasion ensuring that the health, safety, and education of our students was prioritized. Change is one of the only constant that we know in life. The past two years have taught us so much about community, about togetherness, about empathy, and about perseverance. We all experienced Covid-19, while differently, it brought us closer together and to this very point. Needless to say, we didn’t know our own strength!
I am excited to be here, to learn with and from you, and to lead us in the direction of success. This role is one I have worked toward since the first day of undergrad at SUNY Albany. I am honored, humbled, and completely privileged to share this space with you.
This year, I hope that we can continue to partner around the academic achievement of our students, build lasting relationships, problem solve toward better systems and structures that best serve our community, and of course have fun!
I look forward to talking with you as you come by the building. Please pop in to say hello! I will continue to prioritize the student experience and family engagement.
Thank you for trusting in my leadership.
Sincerely,
Adelia Gibson Scott
